Well, I have accepted a position at a local bank as a part time mainframe programmer/intern. This means two things: that I will have work experience that directly relates to my field of work, and that my free time is about to become a lot less free. Also, I get to learn Cobol (which is an old programming language used in a lot of business applications). Let's do this.

Tomorrow will be a big day, my work group has a meeting with the head of the university history department, and we will be providing a status report on our progress in implementing a requested database. I've probably spent one hundred or more hours on this project, and we may finally be getting to the point where some real progress can be made. I say progress, but I guess what I really mean is that we'll be able to move onto the down and dirty task of data processing and entry into the system.
